Inspired by the World
GimmeGrace is not your average Christian card company - we don't find our inspiration solely in Churches, bibles or religious iconography. We live in a world of color, texture, shape and dimension; a world that God created. Our inspiration comes directly from that world, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
Collaboration, Found Objects and Books
Other than Christ, we are most inspired by nature and those we are in fellowship with. We look for ways to collaborate and are amazed at the outcome of working together - it is never short of spectacular. We enjoy working in the urban environment of Seattle, but are blessed to be able to escape to the mountains. We rarely leave the house without a camera and usually have to download a number of images upon our return.
Bookstores and libraries have also been known to stimulate our "idea generators". There is nothing like sitting on the floor in a room of books, perusing the design encyclopedias and typography journals... We have even been motivated by the smell of freshly printed materials.
We are constantly looking for objects that interest us. Often you will see us walking down the avenue with our eyes on the ground - some of the most inspiring things can be found right below your feet! Our office holds a large bin full of paper, images and items that called to us in one way or another. Maybe it was a color, a discarded photo or a fascinating ticket stub... we find ourselves looking through that bin regularly and letting the ideas flow.
Whether it be the city, the mountains, the library or the street; we have found that the world is chock full of Christian cards just waiting to be created.
