What does design have to do with Jesus, or Christian cards for that matter? After looking at the selection of religious cards and books out there, some might say, "Clearly, not much!" Well we here at GimmeGrace have no doubt that design has a lot to do with Christ... in fact, God is the ultimate designer, the creator of everything!
We Heart Design!
We have a passion for design, we just love it. Books, brochures, furniture, jewelry, websites, landscape, invitations, cards... it inspires and influences everything we do. We see the elegance in a well made bicycle and appreciate the form and functionality of an Eames chair. We recognize that both took the mind of a crafty designer, one who saw a problem and realized it had a solution... and a beautiful one at that.
Well, GimmeGrace found our own little problem to solve and we went at it with gusto! We looked through the "religious" sections of our local card shops and realized that there wasn't a lot of selection - mostly pastels and script type. We went online looking for more, and again, similar designs - beautiful in their own right - but not what we were looking for. We found ourselves purchasing secular cards and adding our own spiritual messaging, at a loss for more contemporary designs reflecting our faith. Many of us realized we never sent uplifting Christian messages simply because none of the card designs spoke to us.
